"Stretching"

Stretching is an important part of all workouts. Learn proper stretching moves and techniques for all major muscle groups. Back strengthening exercises will be included.

"Walking Club"

Walking is the easiest and safest method of exercise. Join us for 1-2 mile walks. Walks will be held outside, weather permitting.

"Jump and Pump"

This class will combine basic jump roping with strength works intervals. Jumping rope helps build overall cardiovascular endurance. Combining the alternating intervals helps to increase metabolism.

Senior Strength Training

Structured group Weight Training program using both free weights and selected strength machines. Proper form and technique will be taught by certified Personal Trainers. This program is a great way to help reduce the risk of developing and even warding off osteroporosis.

"On the Ball"

This class will help develop overall strength, using a resistance ball. Each participant will have access to a resistance ball. Upper and lower body exercises will be included.

"Awesome Abs"

Developing strong abdominal and back muscles is a crucial component of any workout routine. This class will focus on strengthening all abdominal muscles as well as strengthening the back.

"Boot Camp"

This class will include timed stations, alternating cardiovasular stations and strength stations.

Body Blast

Get ready to surprise specific body parts! Each week we will focus on specific muscle groups, upper body, lower body, and abs. Class wil meet in the performing arts room.

Yoga Class 2Rising Sun
Looking for a great way to greet the day? Try this Hatha Yoga approach to stretching and strengthening your body with our early morning yoga enthusiasts. This class is for all fitness levels and is a perfect way to get into good health.

Pilates
This class is based on the concepts of Joseph Pilates with the goal of strengthening the core muscles of the body (the hips, abdomen and lower back muscles). Discover the dancer's secret to creating a stronger and leaner look.

Yoga
A class for the beginner, which teaches you how to gently move from position to position and help you develop the necessary discipline for more challenging Yoga.

Yoga With Ease
This is very, very easy yoga. No matter what shape you're in or what ability you might have.

Chair Yoga
Come explore a safe, comfortable way to experience the ancient physical practice of Yoga—in a chair! If you spend time sitting in a car or at a desk or while watching TV, this class is for you!

Yogalates
(Participants are to bring 2 Blankets and 1 mat)
What a great way to get the best of Pilates and Yoga! This class will combine two disciplines to help achieve flexibility and strength offered by both. Suitable for all Y members.

Tai Chi
A workout that will transform your life! By practicing Tai Chi, participants will work on balance in movements that can carry over into practical everyday life. This will be the basic noncombative form suitable to all participants.

Chi Gong
A form of Tai Chi, this moving combination of both Yoga and meditation consistsof a series of postures that are derived from a martial arts discipline but designed to mimic nature. Chi Gong aims to foster a calm and tranquil mind and helps improve balance, alignment, fine scale motor control, and rhythm of movement.

Fit Over 50
A class designed for those with musculoskeleton/joint problems who wish to increase their flexibility, balance, and strength. Taught by Jean George, ASC, a specialist in muscular movements, this class will involve weight training, stretching and Pilates type of movements to increase flexibility, balance and strength.

Strength Training
One of the most popular classes offered at the Y! This class uses many of our Personal Trainers' expertise to create an overall workout supervised by some of our very best!

Step
An aerobic program focusing on risers and steps (an oldie but a goodie), challenging for all levels of ability.

"Triple Threat"
Our latest revision to an already popular class, Cardio Challenge. This class seeks to combine three of our knockout workouts: Spinning, Kickboxing, and Belly Blaster. Come early and be prepared to sweat.

Body Sculpt
An excellent way to strengthen all major muscle groups through the use of weights and resistance equipment with an emphasis on toning and streamlining.

Flexibility Techniques
A half-hour class offered after the traditional aerobic/body sculpting classes. The goal is to increase joint range of motion by incorporating deep stretchingniques. This class is for all fitness levels.

Weight Loss Fitness
A new addition to our Group Fitness! This class is designed as a practical way to incorporate fitness into a goal for a participant in any weight loss program. Join this great way to exercise and watch the pounds fall off.

Low Impact
A floor aerobics class using basic dance choreography. This class will also incorporate weight training and stretch segments. Come early, as this is one of our most popular classes.

Kickboxing
This fun-packed class incorporates both the stimulating moves of a boxer in the ring as well as the cardiovascular challenges of a high intensity workout. A terrific way to get in shape!

Urban Rebounding
Try this wonderful way to exercise by using Rebounders! Similar to

minitrampolines but with lower jumping distances, this is ad.

great workout for those who have knee injuries or cannot take the impact that traditional Aerobics classes offer. It is a fantastic workout for ALL ages

Tums and Buns
A class designed to target those trouble spots: the abdomen and buttocks.

Weight Resistance Training
Want a no-nonsense approach to weight training with our expert group fitness instructor? Wayne will use a variety of weights and resistance exercises to tone and strengthen those looking for a back-to-basics class for getting in shape. This workout is based on the one that Oprah uses to get into such great shape!

Spinning
One of the most time- and cardio-effective workouts ever devised! Emphasis is on proper cycling techniques. This is a high intensity workout, but the student is always in control of the intensity. A towel and water bottle are mandatory for class participation, and early arrival is encouraged as classes fill up quickly.

Easy Rider
This is a great way to learn the basics of spinning. Geared to all ages and fitness levels, our specialty instructor, Marilyn, will introduce this wonderful class to all.

Women's Basketball

It's time! Dust off your old sneakers or lace up your new ones and join our women's league. The emphasis here is fun! Come out for exercise, some laughs and to prove that you've still got it--somewhere! (Ages 21 and up) This is informal organized team play.

Policy Change:
All of the following Fitness Classes will now be offered on a "First-Come, First Serve" basis. There is no Pre-Registration for these classes.

The Y offers a wide variety of classes to meet many individual fitness levels. All of our instructors are certified in their respective fields and are passionate about what they teach. In addition to our traditional Aerobics classes, the Y is focusing on a "Wellness" concept, taking into account not only physical fitness but also a healthy lifestyle involving mind and spirit.
