You’ve made the commitment to fitness. Now what?
There are so many options out there to help you live
a fuller, healthier life. We’re committed to help you
learn more about your options, where you are now,
and what your next step is toward total fitness. Over
the course of five sessions, a certified fitness
professional will take the time to learn more about
you and what the Y can do to help you achieve your
goals. What will you accomplish in this session? Your
way around the Y’s fitness facility, and a program that
is geared towards your needs. Learn how the machines
work, what classes are right for you and what’s the best
way to get where you want to be.
19125-22 Fee: $140.00 5 1/2 hour sessions
Offered all year.
This program is offered during the Spring and Fall sessions.
Triathlon season is still months away. But you’re getting
that competitive itch. Try the Y Dry-Tri.
The Dry-Athlon combines triathlon training with strength
and conditioning in a competition format that’s sure to make
you better prepared to compete this season. It’s also a great
starting point for aspiring tri athletes, and a training tool for
athletes of all seasons.
The formula is simple. It’s a 5k run on the treadmill, 12-mile
ride on a stationary bike, and bench press a percentage of your
weight for repetitions. We’ll use a percentage
of your body weight so everyone’s on a level playing field,
regardless of your size. (1/2 for men) (1/3 for women)Your time
on the run and bike get added together, then divide that time by your
number of reps on the bench. It’s all in the fitness center at a time
that’s convenient for you.
Just like the triathlons, we’ve got age groups, weight classes,
and trophies – even the free T-shirt. We’ll see who’s the
best-conditioned athlete, pound for pound.
Register at the front desk. We’ll call you to set up the time.
