Our philosophy at the Y is that players need to develop their skills, love for the game, have fun and exercise. We know that happens by playing.

We believe that no one learns by sitting on the bench!

YBA Tip-Off is this weekend!

5th-7th grade will meet Friday night 12/2 at 6:30-7:15 pm.

All others will meet on Saturday 12/3:

Pre-K 4                    9:00 at the Blake Center

All 1st-2nd grades 10:00 - 10:45 in the Y gym

3rd-4th grades       11:00 - 11:45 in the Y gym

How does this work?

Come to the gym, and look for your name on our roster posters hung on

the walls of the gym. Your coach will be there next to the poster. You will meet your coach and your teammates. Schedules for the remainder of the season will be handed out to you.  After a brief meeting, you are free to leave.

General Information

• Register now.
• Evaluation days: All 3rd-7th must attend at least 1 evaluation day.
• It is not necessary nor encouraged to attend more than 1!

3rd-4th grade: October 26 or Nov. 2 6:00 (1 full hour)

  5th-7th grade: October 26 or Nov. 2 7:00 (1 full hour)

• League runs December 3 - Feb. 25 for pre-K 4 - 2nd grade
• League runs December 2 - March 3 (championship game) for 3rd-7th grade
• All players receive a team t-shirt
• Volunteer coaches needed. Please indicate if you are willing to coach, co-coach, or assist on your child's registration form. We perform a background check on all coaches.
• Greater Morristown YMCA membership required - 3 month $65, 6 month $124, full year $194 or take out a family membership and parents and children are included.
• Membership allows players to sign up for swim lessons (fees apply), enjoy open gym, family nights and more.
• 3 month membership begins the day YBA begins regardless of when you sign up so you don't have to worry about extending the membership to cover YBA.

Little Happy Hoopsters Division a.k.a - We just can't wait to play!

Our very popular league for the future NBA'ers. They play on

lower hoops in their own gym next to the Y at the Blake Center's Lil' Honey Gym.

Volunteer coaches needed.

Saturdays 9:00 & 10:00 am

December 3 - February 25

Fee: $85

* 5 year olds who can attend kindergarten, but elect not to, can play in this division to be with their future peers or they can choose to play in the Y Rookies Division.

Let your budding athlete gain confidence as she learns how to play the great sport of basketball.
Games and practices are held in the gym on Saturday mornings. Lower hoops are used to encourage good form, success and fun!

Y Rookies Division Kinder - 2nd grade

All children eligible for kindergarten are welcome.

Games and team t-shirts. Baskets are lowered to insure success and fun. Volunteer coaches needed.

1st & 2nd times: Saturday 10:00, 11:00 12:00, 1:00 rotating

Y Collegiate Division 3rd & 4th grade

Stepping it up! Hoops at 9 and 10 feet. Smaller court is used until playoffs then its on to the full court. You'll be ready!

Practices, games and team t-shirts. Players placed on teams based on ability. Volunteer coaches needed.

Referees, 1 practice per week and playoffs. Practice times to be determined by coaches.

Times: Saturday 2:00 or 3:00 rotating

December 3- March 3. 19. Elimination playoffs Saturdays 2/25,3/3 & 3/4 championship.

Y All-Star Division 5th, 6th and 7th grade

Full court all season . Referees, score and playoffs.

Times: Friday 6:30 or 7:30 pm rotating

Fridays December 3 - March 2 Championship game.
