Backyard Kids Summer Camp Goals:
* Provide a safe and healthy camping experience through

careful supervision.

* To provide activities that build confidence, develop skills,

and make new friends and have fun.

* Character counts! We are committed in building strong kids,

strong families and strong communites through Character Development.

Throughout the summer the children will focus on the core values of the YMCA; caring, honesty, respect and responsibilty. This focus creates a safe and nurturing environment where children develop friendships, learn and have fun.

About our Directors:
Camille Villoresi-Haynes, Camp Director, has her M.A. in Education with a concentration in Administration and Supervision. She also has over nine years summer camp experience as well as her teaching certificate.

Sara Sheffield, Assistant Camp Director, graduated from the University of Scranton with a B.A.in Counseling and Human Services. She has seven years Morris Center YMCA summer camp experience in which
four of those years were spent as a director.


About our camping staff:
The Morris Center YMCA is committed to providing a safe, positive and fun experience for your child. We strive to select a diverse group of mature, caring, patient, skilled and responsible counselors. Most of our counselors are college students who are pursuing careers in education and other human service related fields. Prior to the arrival of
campers, all staff receive background checks, training in safety, counseling techniques, conflict resolution, camp policies
and procedures. This high standard of professionalism results in a safe, fun, high quality experience for our campers.

Medical Supervision at the Morris Center YMCA:
All counselors are CPR/First Aid certified. We also have a full-time EMT on camp staff.


Medical Supervision at Camp Bernie:
Camp Bernie has a full-time Nurse/Health Officer on staff. She lives on-site and is on call 24-hours a day. The Nurse/Health Officer works closely with staff, and campers to ensure the well-being of every child. Camp Bernie has access to nearby Hunterdon Medical Center and Hackettstown Hospital.

June 23-August 22
Closed July 4th.

General Camp Hours:
8 am-6 pm,
Monday-Friday
Early drop-ff is available beginning at 7:30 am for an additional $35.00 per week
Specialty camps run from 9 am -12 Noon.
Extended day is available for an additional cost, se the Specialty camp section for pricing.







Seniors Adults Teens Children Make A Donation
