Morris Center YMCA - Serving Morristown, Morris Township, Ceder Knolls, Morris Plains, Whippany, Convent Station, East Hanover, Mendham, Chester and parts of Harding Township
Welcome to the Y

Founded in 1874 the Morris Center YMCA has been serving the greater western Morris County area more than 130 years. We are a non-profit charity. Our purpose is to benefit, enhance, and improve individual and family life for people who live and work in our service area by delivering the best possible and most complete facilities and an extensive variety of unsurpassed programs and activities.

The YMCA facility is home to more than 6300 members where we offer a myriad of health-related activities and programs for people of all ages. Our recently renovated facility includes a 5,500 square foot fitness center, olympic sized swimming pool, double gymnasium, indoor track, ballet room, performing arts, library, arts and crafts and computer rooms. We have an winning swim team, YBA program (Youth Basketball) and are home to the New Jersey Ballet.

Childcare is a Morris Center YMCA specialty which we have successfully delivered to the surrounding communities since 1988. In 2003 we opened the Richard F. Blake Children’s Center directly next to the YMCA. This 20,000 square foot building includes 15 classrooms, a multi-purpose room and a large gymnasium. We are licensed to care for 215 preschoolers and are currently seeking re-accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We provide care for children between the ages of 6-weeks and 5- years daily from 6:30am to 6:00 pm in this spacious center where the average teacher’s tenure is 8 years. Additionally, our YMCA staff manages and operates the Children’s Corner Childcare Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital, providing care for over 120 children of hospital employees.

Each summer hundreds of children enjoy, active, wholesome and developmentally stimulating days at our Backyard Kids Camp and our 16 Specialty Camps located on site and licensed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age. Our Y Kids after school program is offered at two satellite locations in Morris Plains and we feature Adventure Days to the children of working parents during those school vacation days when care is difficult to find.

The location of both the Richard F. Blake Children’s Center and the on site Backyard Kids Camp program makes our YMCA a one stop shopping facility for families wanting to experience the care of our award winning childcare center and the outstanding health and fitness center our Y has to offer as we strive to build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.
